Freaks da Dança

"Freaks da dança" [Dance Freaks] are a group of people with different ages, training and life experience coming together during the Dias da Dança festival to watch and discuss the performances, which are both the meeting and starting point, setting off multiple perspectives based on and about the same object. This programme is based on the belief that meeting art is something unpredictable and unique, and that we can all establish a relation with a work of art, that we are all capable of 'translating' it, based on what we've experienced, as long as we're willing to. At the same time, we believe that there are numerous approaches and that some of them are difficult, requiring time, effort and knowing the codes. We find guidance in the words of Isadora Duncan: "If I could explain, I wouldn't need to dance." — Magda Henriques
