FARRUQUITO

Farruquito, Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya, is heir to a unique flamenco school founded by his grandfather, Farruco. He made his international debut at the age of four on Broadway, New York, with “Puro” [Pure], sharing the stage with some of flamenco’s most legendary names. When his grandfather died, in 1997, he took on the responsibility of perpetuating the family line. By the age of fifteen, he creates his first performance, “Raíces Flamencas” [Flamenco Roots], revealing a new dimension that combines tradition and a tremendous personal artistic concept. Since then, he has had unprecedented success, received countless awards such as the Flamenco Hoy Award, the Telón Chivas Award for Best Dance Performer and the prestigious APDE Award 2004, and has been touring the world with his performances.
