In its 7th edition, DDD has teamed up with other cities to bring dance to everyone. In total, there are 4 shows that, in addition to being presented at DDD, will also be shown in other venues throughout the country.
These sessions begin on April 15th with "Encantado" by Lia Rodrigues, which will be shown in Lisbon at the Culturgest. Lia Rodrigues' latest show is inspired by the encantados, entities that belong to the Afro-Indigenous world, who transit between heaven and earth and transform them into sacred places.
"Ara! Ara!" by Ginerva Panzetti & Enrico Ticconi is also one of the shows included in these co-presentations. On April 19th, in Coimbra, at the Municipal Theater Sá de Miranda, it will be possible to attend a national premiere investigating the symbolic power of the flag, considering the "folkloric tradition of waving flags".
DDD will also reach Viana do Castelo on April 29th, at the Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda. "Dalila" by Daniela Cruz is a possibility, "searching for an identity that seeks so many others." The show will premiere at DDD on April 25th at the Auditório Municipal de Gaia.
Gaya de Medeiros will close these co-presentations with "Pai para Jantar". On May 5th, at the Teatro José Lúcio da Silva, in Leiria, Gaya Medeiros will try to dissect masculinity in a poetic way. The dancer will also be at the CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva conducting a workshop, playing with bodily and vocal performance.
These co-presentations stem from DDD's desire to promote sustainability practices, taking advantage of the artists' presence in Portugal to mitigate environmental impact. Tickets are available at the box office of each show.
