Applications are now open for an open call aimed at selecting eight performers, over 17 years old, with experience in ballroom dancing, to take part in a research project and construction of an improvisation score to the sound of a live DJ set, to be presented at DDD – Festival Dias da Dança 2024.

Synopsis:

In Salão Pavão, by Marco da Silva Ferreira, 10 performers experienced in ballroom dancing interpret an improvisation choreographic score at TMP Café - Rivoli, to the sound of a DJ's live act. On the dance floor, a bold manifesto of intense liberation unfolds, which attempts to challenge norms and transcend barriers. The beat of clubbing music creates a celebratory nighttime atmosphere, where bodies are magnets and eyes are hands. The speed and intertwining of the dancers-birds generate a fleeting vertigo in this encounter, an accelerated spiral that seems to have no end, where party, expression, intimate space and reality intertwine without asking for permission.

– Workshop: April 15th to 20th, from 10am to 2pm, at Teatro Rivoli (Porto)

– Rehearsal: April 22nd, at a time to be defined, at Teatro Rivoli (Porto)

– Public Sharing: April 23rd, at a time to be defined, at TMP Café - Rivoli (Porto)

Remuneration:

– €450: gross value (Includes rehearsals and public sharing)
