Bixa Bixo
© Raquel Pimentel

Bixa Bixo is an artistic immersion that articulates queerness, ecology, and gender through an intersectional performative approach. The work investigates dissident alliances between body, forest, and night, proposing a fluid and hybrid expression of identities and relationships between human and non-human. The dramaturgy dissolves binary categories, constructing a performative syntax that highlights the interdependence of ecosystems and the multiplicity of ways of existing. Between the animal, the queer person, and the forest, through the enchantment of the night, transhuman corporealities emerge, in which the queer body recognizes itself as living and untamed ecology. Bixa Bixo presents itself as an aesthetic and political practice, repositioning nature as an active agent of resistance. — Coletivo Afrontosas
