Encruzilhada is a choreographic work about celebration as a space for resistance and negotiation as a shared practice. The piece draws on dance archives that question the contemporary, bringing together gestures from the collective imagination and dances that rarely occupy traditional contexts. Collectivity is at the heart of the work, not as an ideal, but as an unstable and necessary practice. In a time marked by fragmentation and competition, moving in a group becomes a political gesture. The performers negotiate presence, friction, and listening, while the audience follows the work as it unfolds. Encruzilhada does not seek perfection but asks how to sustain the space of the other in the face of isolation. — Balé da Cidade de São Paulo
