Some
people say we need an encyclopaedia or a manual to better understand a
Contemporary Dance performance. After the two sessions of the cycle História(s)
da Dança, of the Teatro Municipal do Porto, had been focused on the work of
the American Merce Cunningham and the Belgian Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, the
third session, held within the DDD, focuses on the work of the Portuguese João
Fiadeiro, an undeniable name of the New Portuguese Dance, from the perspective
of the curator and essayist Delfim Sardo.
