Isabel Barros is a choreographer, stage director, co-founder of balleteatro (1983), artistic director of Teatro de Marionetas do Porto since 2010 and of the Meuseu de Marionetas do Porto, which opened in February 2013. She has a vast artistic path, in which she highlights the crossing of languages, namely dance, theater and puppets.

Ver soon she became interested in creating moments of programming related to dance, theater and performance, privileging transversal and alternative formats and dedicating moments for emerging creators. She received the Almada award (1999) attributed to balleteatro, as a distinction for the work carried out in the programming field.

In 2014, she created the Corpo + Cidade Festival, dedicated to performance in public spaces, which since 2016 integrated the DDD programme. Porto is her birth city, the city where she chose to live and develop her work with a sense of urgency and strong social dimension.
