Joana Castro
Joana Castro (1988, Porto) develops her work between dance, performance and sound, having presented some of her works in Portugal, France, Belgium and Germany. She started her studies during a dance course at Balleteatro Profissional Escola in 2003, attended the PEPCC course (Study, Research and Choreographic Creation Programme) at Fórum Dança in 2008, was a NEC fellow in 2009, in 2013 participated in the Dance Web Schoolarship Programme of Festival Impulstanz, in Vienna and in 2016/17 attended the postgraduate specialization in performance at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto. As a performer she collaborated with Joclécio Azevedo, Carlota Lagido, Né Barros, Victor Hugo Pontes, Ana Borralho and João Galante, Joana Providência, Juliana Snapper, Bruno Alexandre, Rita Vilhena, among others. Currently she is creating and STILL we MOVE in collaboration with Maurícia | Neves to be premiered at BoCA. She is an associated artist of Visões Úteis.
