Lúcia Azevedo
Lúcia Azevedo was born in Lisbon in 1974,
four days before the 25th April Revolution. The turmoil in the
streets that anticipated the Carnation Revolution was often evoked by her
father in his memories of the time - he wanted Lúcia to leave the clinic where
she was born quickly to celebrate the fall of the dictatorship at home.
As a teenager, Lúcia does not remember
wandering on dance floors or in endless sunrises. She already had a degree in
Philosophy and History of Ideas when she first entered Lux Frágil for the first
time.
In 1998 she began working at the
nightclub, discovering the spirit of Manuel Reis' festive productions.
Lúcia worked at the Lux bar at night,
while during the day she insisted on taking a second degree in Social Work at
Católica. She had plans for escape and missions that would take her around the
world, but an invitation from Manuel Reis changed her heart. She left the bar to manage the extensive team
at Lux Frágil, assisting Manuel on a day-to-day basis. It was almost two
decades like this, until she took over as director of Lux Frágil in 2018, which
she currently holds.
