Mário Afonso studied at Escola de Artes Visuais Antonio Arroio. Since 1998, he has authored works for public presentation. Besides his artistic work, Mario Afonso has participated in and held workshops, seminars and other events in the vast area of doing and thinking, in addition to academic studies. In 2009 he founded the Carta Branca cultural association.
