Rui Silveira is a Portuguese Berlin-based producer and curator of contemporary performing arts. For the last 18 years, he has worked with multiple artists, venues and festivals that share an interest in the development and dissemination of contemporary performing arts, organising international projects, festivals, artistic productions, tours and residencies. Rui is the founder and artistic director of Something Great, a Berlin-based organisation that represents the work of associated artists, helping them develop new work and tour internationally. In addition to its associated artists, Something Great supports a variety of other artists and arts professionals by organising and programming artist residencies and multidisciplinary events at its new arts centre in Mentin, a small village in the rural Ruhner Berge, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in north-eastern Germany.
