Tarab is a celebration based on a concept by choreographer Eric Minh Cuong Castaing, reinvented with musician Rayess Bek and performed by six dancers from Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon. Inspired by dances such as the dabkeh and the taa'kib and accompanied by around 60 performers, they gradually draw the audience in, enthralled by their social dances combining tradition and contemporary movements, giving free rein to sensations, experiences and emotions in a vast collective surge. Tarab is the voice of poetry, music and song; it arouses intense emotion, an almost ecstatic state. — Éric Minh Cuong Castaing / Compagnie Shōnen
