"O meu corpo também dança" ("My body also dances") will be a kind of dance surgery where the body will be a subject for experimentation by dancers, doctor- dancers and children aged 6-8. There will be workshops to explore techniques and exercises of composition often used in contemporary dance. It won't just be about "pirouette" but about some language that don't need words. We want to think the body as a map that is built and modified in every experience: a dynamic letter where the interest points are becomings.
Mara Andrade was born in 1987. Between Medicine and Dance, she is inspired by the physicality of emotional states and how they are transformed into other states. In 2012, she created "Uma Pequena Morte e Psicanálise" (A Small Death and Psychoanalysis). From 2014 to 2015 she created the solo "Um Triste Ensaio sobre a Beleza" (A Sad Essay about Beauty) that debuted on 4 October 2015 at the Campo Alegre Theatre, in Porto.
